Who We Are
Studio Hexe
A studio is artful to the degree that the artists who occupy it are committed to continuing their education in their discipline.
Building sets of skills that require continuity of practice in order to achieve growth and mastery of their artistic expression; Practicing, innovating, and experimenting to develop uniquely individual qualities of each artist’s expression.
An art studio has different creative goals than a simple facility or a workshop.
The two nerdy, queer, socially-minded artists of Studio Hexe make it what it is through the art we share with the world and the internet at large.
Based in the Pacific Northwest, currently residing on Duwamish Lands, we started Studio Hexe in the Spring of 2020, just before bigger events gave us time to explore more in our tiny studio.
Together we share a home and studio with our cats, Bowie (6), Lana (5), and Azazel (21), several plants, and a couple of small aquariums.
Meet the artists
– Vanessa/Nessa (She/They)
About Vanessa’s Art
” I began to take control of my mental health and make space for myself by crafting and creating for myself and my space. I went from cosplay & costuming to DIY projects. Living with Glow I’ve had a partner in creation! I watched Glow make jewelry and as I got into dice and resin casting there was a lovely crossover when Glow made the first DS cartridge necklace. “
– Glow/Greg, (He/They/Any/Whatev)
About Glow’s Art
” I fell in love with the patterns and appearance of circuitry during college and realized that there was a world of hidden beauty and beauty in the broken. It all started with a broken piece of mechanic diagnostic equipment I was gifted to try to fix, and shattered glass from a rock someone had thrown through an abandoned gas station window. Glowing to me implies a particular warmth, it can add a subtlety, an invitation, a mystery, and a revelation. ”
We both enjoy camping, hiking, video games, space, science fiction, and most things nerdy.
